In honor of Black History Month, we’ve shared some favorite #TJbooklist over on our facebook groups. A special thanks to our Taylor Joelle Admin for selecting those beautiful books to share. Many of the extraordinary books we recommend are recipients of the Coretta Scott King Award. Just as we aim to have these acclaimed works in all of your homes, we want everyone to have access to these incredible pieces of history, artistry, and representation.

On Feb 2, 2022, we chose to donate15 percent of all sales today to support the American Library Association’s Coretta Scott King Award Book Donation Grant. Thank you all so much for your purchases and making this donation possible. We were able to donate $639.66 to this wonderful grant.

The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Donation Grant was created to help build collections and bring books into the lives of children in preschool programs, faith-based reading projects, homeless shelters, charter schools, underfunded libraries, and other community organizations. The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee believes children’s lives must be saturated with books and reading opportunities. An enduring message of the Committee’s Public Awareness Campaign is that books and reading can only add value to children’s lives if books are present with opportunities to read.
