DIY Christmas Village

Do you have some Christmas village houses that need a little updating?  Or maybe you found some at your local thrift store.  Here’s a fun and simple project to help your village match your decor.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Spray Paint.  I used 3 different colors. (buy at any craft store)
  • Mini Christmas trees and wreathes (I bought these at Michaels craft)
  • Spray Snow (from Michaels.  I have also seen it on amazon).
  • Hot glue

Step one:

Cover your houses with spray paint.  It may need a few coats.  I also spray painted my mini white tree with pink paint.

Step two:

After the spray paint is dry, use some acrylic paint to enhance details like the doors or window frames.

Step three:

Hot glue the wreathes or other decorates you want to include

Step four:

Add the spray snow.  This is fun!  The only problem is that it doesn’t dry like paint.  It stays kind of foamy.  I think I will need to reapply this snow each year when I get my village out.
