A couple months ago, my boys’ room was covered in scary green wallpaper from another century. I finally decided to tackle the room and I am so glad I did.
My boys love legos, so I decided to add some lego touches and keep the room a modern and fresh style.
Walls: I wanted to keep the walls neutral, then I can add color to the room through furniture and accessories. This allows me to change up the decor without having to repaint too, plus I think white walls look classic and fresh.
The wall stickers are from Urban Walls, and they have so many designs to choose from. Plus they are only about $35 per sheet and since I spaced them pretty wide, I only needed 1 sheet.
Bedding:
The bedding is from walmart a few years ago. We didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the room so we worked with the bedding we already had.
Dresser and Bedside Table
The dresser and table were both from a thrift store. I took a color from the bedding to make our accent color for the dresser and table. I love how it turned out. It was so cheap and simple. See this post about repainting furniture: www.taylorjoelleblog.com/2015/01/repainting-furniture-without-sanding.html
Lego Art:
We took 2 thrift store frames and painted them black. The prints are downloadable for $5 each from my mom’s etsy shop:www.etsy.com/shop/dilarob We took them to a local print shop and the cost lest than $1 each to print.
Over the dresser we added more lego prints. This time from etsy shop Roxberrylime2 There are TONS of lego characters to choose from, and each download costs $3.50.
It was so fun to see how we could tackle this room on a budget. Most of the items were things we had and re-purposed. We did purchase the rug, lamp, and shades from ikea.
Everything is Awesome!
How fun! This would be a blast to do for my son. He is 7 and loves Legos. You did a great job!
