It’s October! It’s one of my favorite times of the year, and not just because of the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. 😉 It’s also the time that all of my favorite TV shows come back on (Grey’s Anatomy anyone?). Then, to top it all off, I get to pull out the fall decor and start planning my daughter’s Halloween costume.
Here are a few of our favorite fall blog posts from previous years.
They are just too fun not to share with our new followers.
Fall Wood Decor
In a previous life, I was the marketing coordinator for a local craft store chain. It was the perfect job to learn from some seriously crafty people and pretend that I was crafty too! I ended up being on a design team for their blog. One of my favorite posts that I did for them was my “Boo Letters”. I featured that project on the Taylor Joelle blog too just a few years ago. For instructions, click HERE.
Last year, I went to a fun craft night with some fun ladies and we painted these adorable wood pumpkins. The kit that we bought at the craft store came with all of the pieces and instructions. We just had to buy the paint and paper. How adorable did they turn out?
Pumpkin Painting
Jenny’s mom, Diane, is seriously one of the most creative people on earth. She is the co-designer behind some of your favorite Taylor Joelle pieces. She painted these amazing owl pumpkins. We shared them with you on our blog last year. Can you even handle it?
Even your little Picasso will have fun painting pumpkins. It’s a fun alternative to carving. Here is a pic of my little one putting her painting skills to work.
Pumpkin Patches
Before you set out to painting your pumpkins, why not head to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin. You can make a fun day out of it instead of just getting a pumpkin from the store. Local pumpkin patches often have rides, face painting, inflatable slides and more. Here’s an adorable pic from @theparkismyrunway of her little one at the pumpkin patch. We LOVE how she styled our Gold Tutu Skirt! It’s so fun to see our clothing become a part of your festive events!
Do you have a Taylor Joelle Owl Hat? One of my favorite parts of fall is taking our owl hat out for my daughter to wear. She’s had it since she was 1, and it still (barely) fits! How cute is this pic from a Wordless Wednesday blog post 2 years ago?
You can even use your owl hat as part of a costume!
Costumes
Need more DIY costume ideas? Why not use a Taylor Joelle item that you already have and turn it into a costume? We have written a few blog posts with ideas for DIY costumes, including costumes made from Taylor Joelle favorites.
Happy autumn season everyone! What is your favorite thing about this time of year?
I like to bake and cook hot soups and chili during fall and Autumn.
