Safe and Stylish in the Sun

Summer is here and it is HOT! It is a great time to cool down and enjoy a day at the beach or by the pool with the kids. Here are a few of our favorite items to keep your daughter safe and stylish in the sun.
This entire look was based around the adorable Ruffle Me Pretty swim suit by SwimZip. We LOVE SwimZip swimsuits because they are made of a UPF 50+ fabric that actually provides extra protection from the sun. How cool is that? Their styles are also super adorable. Betsy Johnson, the founder of SwimZip was diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of 26.  Betsy says “As a skin cancer victim, I know the harsh reality of not getting enough sun protection. As a Mom I know that I don’t want my children suffering the same fate. SwimZip is a lot more than just a sun protective clothing company… SwimZip is a passion”.
The Grey and White Stripe Ruffle Shorts by Taylor Joelle are a perfect match for the Ruffle Me Pretty swim suit by swim zip. We coordinated the colors in the shorts with the accessories. Grey flip flops from Old Navy are a steal for just $2.50 on sale right now. The adorable white swim suit cover up is also from Old Navy. The hat and sunglasses are from Children’s Place, and are also a steal at just $3.20 and $2.99. It’s not ideal to put sunscreen near the eyes or in your hair, but it is so important to remember to protect the eyes and head from the sun as well. So, why not protect in style with fashionable sunglasses and a hat?
Also, don’t forget the sun screen! We prefer a kids safe organic sunscreen like Babyganics for the little ones. But, mom needs sunscreen too. HSN has some great sunscreens and other cleansers and creams on their skin care page for your specific skin care issues and preventions.
What are some of your favorite ways to stay safe and stylish in the sun?
