Rebecca, the author of Poster Child style, answered some of our questions just for our readers about her blog, fashion inspiration, trends and more!
What made you want to to start Poster Child Style?
I was looking for an avenue to explore my love of fashion and writing when I took an interview with a local children’s fashion magazine. While working as an editor with this publication I travelled to New York and fell head over heels for the stunning items displayed on the petiteParade runway and at Children’s Club. I was hooked. I started Poster Child Style as an outlet to explore and share my love of kids fashion!
What trends do you see for summer?
For girls we are loving floral prints. Big or small, bright or soft – the floral print is great for the girly girl! Tulle is another fav for summer, big pumped up dresses and skirts for little ladies are awesome! For boys, we think ‘Rocker Chic’ rules! Check out our new style guide to learn how to create this style.
Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
We really enjoy attending Petite Parade and discovering the latest from Pitti Bimbo too. A lot of our style inspiration comes from watching the runways! We also pay close attention to men and women’s fashion trends too; creating little style from adult looks is fun.
What advice would you give to parents shopping for their children?
My best advice is to shop online! I often talk to parents who say its frustrating to find great clothing for their kids. They find it difficult to get items they love in department stores and complain that they spend hours searching town for the perfect pieces. Check out some online boutiques – you’ll be surprised by the selection you’ll find and the time you’ll save online!
