Kid’s Fashion Sites We Love – MiaMoo Designs

We at Taylor Joelle have been on the hunt for awesome kid’s fashion sites to learn from and pass along to all of our followers. We don’t claim to be know-it-alls when it comes to fashion and are always on the look out for resources to follow the trends and be fashion forward. Along this journey, we are finding some really great sites and blogs that will be a great resource for all of you as well. When we feature these sites for you, it won’t just be a link share. We will tell you a little about the site and why we love it, then we are going to interview the site authors, after all, they are the fashion experts.

This week we are featuring MiaMoo Designs. MiaMoo Designs first caught our eye with the fashion looks that they put together to coordinate with their necklaces. MiaMoo Designs specializes in BIG chunky beaded necklaces for little girls and adults. Anyone wearing a MiaMoo is sure to feel special and glamorous They are sure to make a statement for everyday wear and add just the finishing touch to any photo shoot. The necklace designs are original and fresh, and so are the fashion looks that they put together.

This look was put together by MiaMoo Designs to coordinate with their Grey Sophistication Necklace. The pants are gap skinny jeans, the top is by Matilda Jane, the vest is from kokoblushandcompany.com/ and the shoes are from Joyfolie.

Isn’t that look just to die for? You can find more looks like this on the MiaMoo Designs facebook page. Here is a little preview of what you will find.

Katie, the creator and designer for MiaMoo Designs took some time to answer some questions for our readers about children’s fashion trends, her inspirations, and more.
How did MiaMoo Designs get it’s start?
I started MiaMoo Designs 4 years ago when my Mia was just 2. I started out making hair clips for her and had a lot of people ask where I got them and if I sold them. It was a fun hobby and was fun to make a little extra money while my husband attended school. I also made burp cloth gift sets to go with the hair accessories, and then started making skirts and dresses. I mostly handmade things for my girls and would post them to my blog where I would get occasional sales. I made Mia her first chunky necklace 3 years ago, and it was then that I really found my niche! I love designing necklaces that will make a statement. With amazing accessories a basic wardrobe can be transformed!
What fashion trends do you see for winter?
We are big into skinny jeans, funky tights and ruffled leggings under dresses and skirts in this house The right pair of boots and flats are also a must! I like my girls to look fashionable and put together while being comfortable and functional at the same time so they can still play. I think navy and green will be popular colors as well as mustard. I seem to be leaning towards monochromatic looks with a statement necklace for my girls.
Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
All of my inspiration started with my girls. I am, however, inspired by color, clothing, and textures when designing my jewelry. My biggest goal is to continue to reinvent myself while designing, and to always keep my designs unique and fresh.

Do you have any advice for parents when it comes to shopping for their children’s clothing?

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to dress your children fashionably. I have found some of our favorite items of clothing at Old Navy and Target. I would suggest finding at least 1 good pair of skinny jeans at Gap. My girls wear theirs almost every day whether under a tunic/dress, or paired with a top and cardigan. I usually buy a pair of silver flats for my girls to wear year round because silver matches everything, and you can dress them up and down. Gap usually has them at their outlet all year for under $20! If you are able to get more than one pair of shoes, its always fun to add a splash of color. Look for specials because many high end brands have flash sales for Old Navy and Target prices-you just have to keep your eyes peeled! Lastly accessorizing can make all the difference in the world between an ordinary outfit and a WOW outfit! I usually tell my customers to work their outfits around their necklaces Most importantly, buy things your children will be comfortable in. There are many outfits that are beautiful for photos but aren’t realistic for every day wear. Try to find ways to be fashionable AND comfortable-they will thank you for it!

Hi everyone. The lace overlay dress is a look that was put together by Miamoo Designs. I am not sure on the brand. But, she might have more info for you. It is from over a year ago, so I am guessing that it is sold out. But, it might be worth a try.
