What are some boys trends that you see for spring and summer?
The Biggest and the HOTTEST yet though not necessarily newest trend you will be seeing everywhere is COLOR! After years of slow inching into our boys’ wardrobes the color had finally made it big, popping up literally everywhere. This Crayola fest had not left a single brand untouched and all we can say – go for it! Color block, pair bold colors with bold patterns, tame bold patterns with muted solids, experiment with pastels and jewel toned colors. Little boys can get away with a lot more than you think. Let them express their flamboyant personalities and don’t even get us started on this pink/purple issue. Pleeease!
Other hot trends that are less visible due to the mass obsession with color are the Bermuda shorts, lovely stripes of all kinds, art prints paired with interesting patterns and LITE DENIM! Chambray shirts are so amazingly versatile – it’s borderline witch craft! Fashion is in my blood. I LOVE fashion and follow a gazillion of fashion blogs and resources. I read certain fashion magazines, follow children’s fashion industry resources and constantly on a lookout to discover new and exciting brands and products. I keep an eye on European, Australian, Japanese/South Korean fashion as these are definitely hotbeds of the innovative and creative designs. Children’s fashion is definitely a reflection of the adult fashion trends. Major trends trickle down to the kids fashion realm almost immediately and the way designers style their collections and fashion blogosphere ideas are absolutely applicable in the kids’ fashion. You just have to translate this big fashion language to the mini fashion slang, so to speak;)
Follow Boys Be Cool, naturally! From my conversations with boys’ parents I can safely conclude that the majority of parents have NO clue about all the shopping resources at their fingertips and actually in the very close proximity. Most of them don’t really care, unfortunately – hence the sad picture of borderline homeless looking boys throughout the country regardless of the families financial standing. Many of them are unaware that H&M in their local mall carries kids’ clothes. Yes! For a start following an inspirational style centric resource will gently guide you through all the shopping channels and we don’t look down on Target, God forbid! High and low mix is one of the keys to success. Following high end deals sites like http://www.newdaynewdeals.com/ that track all the deal-icios developments on the best brands will take a lot of work out of revamping your kids’ closet.
Don’t look away from more expensive pieces. A lot of them are perfectly unisex and timeless, such as colorful and patterned blazers for instance. They could be worn by girls and boys alike and great quality will ensure safe passing down to the next generation. Invest in brands with the high resell value. Yes! Resell is hot! Giving away clothes is wonderful but these extra dollars will definitely help with next size shopping. Buy ahead! Boutiques’ seasonal sales are the treasure troves of the highly coveted high end clothes sold at bottom lime prices. Snatch whatever you can, they will GROW into it, this is what the kids do.
Yes..i agree with you, some parents look for designer selective for their kids
