Family Craft: Valentine’s Day Letters

Sunday evening usually turns into craft time at the Taylor Joelle house. Tonight we did a Valentine’s Day craft. This is something super easy that you can do together as a family.

Here is what you will need:

  • Cardboard or wood letters (I bought my cardboard letters at Hobby Lobby)
  • Paint (pink or red) and paint brushes
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Scissors
  • Optional: embellishment and glue gun

Step 1:
Paint your letters. This is fun and easy for the kids to do (my 3 year old even did a letter).

Step 2:
After the paint is dry, trace the letters with your scrapbook paper.

Step 3:
Cut the traced letters out of the scrapbook paper. You want the scrapbook letters to by slightly smaller than our cardboard letters, so cut inside your traced lines.

Step 4:
Have the kids use a paint brush or sponge brush to apply Mod Podge to the front of their letters. Then lay the scrapbook paper letter on top of your cardboard letter and apply Mod Podge over the top.

Step 5:
Let the letters dry, then add an embellishment (optional) using your glue gun. I made a felt flower and put a jewel in the center.
